We are currently looking for a passionate and skilled News Editor to join our fast-paced newsroom in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and curate compelling news stories that matter to our diverse audience across Nigeria and the African continent.
- Coordinate newsroom reporters, producers, and production teams efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to breaking news events with accuracy and journalistic integrity.
- Maintain high editorial standards, ensuring all content is thoroughly fact-checked, objective, and legally compliant.
- Supervise the writing, editing, and packaging of news bulletins, digital articles, and broadcast segments.
- Mentor junior journalists and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve team output.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional journalism experience, with at least 2 years in a senior editing or supervisory role within a reputable news organization.
- Exceptional news judgment, deep knowledge of Nigerian and African socio-political landscapes, and a commitment to unbiased reporting.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills under high-pressure, breaking-news conditions.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with flawless command of English.
- Familiarity with digital media publishing tools, broadcast technologies, and SEO best practices for news.
