About the Role
Irisfield Montessori School, a leading child-centred learning centre located in a serene residential community within Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a passionate and talented Music Instructor. Established in October 2014, our institution caters to children from early years (toddlers from 12 months) up to Grade 6 (11 years). Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate music curriculum for toddlers through Grade 6 students.
- Teach foundational musical concepts, rhythm, vocal training, and the fundamentals of playing various instruments.
- Plan and coordinate school musical performances, concerts, and seasonal events.
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that fosters a love for the arts.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain and care for all school musical instruments and equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience teaching music, preferably within a structured school or early childhood environment.
- Relevant certification, diploma, or degree in Music, Education, or a related field.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to play multiple musical instruments is an added advantage.
