About the Role
Iconic 104.5 FM is a newly launched commercial radio station based in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Owned and established by Iconic University, an innovative open, distance, and e-learning institution, our station is expanding its vibrant newsroom and looking for a talented Multimedia Journalist/Reporter to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering accurate, timely, and engaging news content to our growing audience across traditional radio and digital multimedia platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Gather, verify, and report breaking news and current affairs stories accurately and objectively.
- Conduct professional field interviews and build a strong network of credible, reliable news sources.
- Operate cameras and digital equipment for effective field reporting and video content creation.
- Edit video and audio packages for broadcast and digital media channels under tight deadlines.
- Produce compelling multimedia content that resonates with diverse local and regional audiences.
- Collaborate seamlessly with producers, editors, and fellow newsroom staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree or relevant background in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field; proven professional reporting experience will also be strongly considered.
- Demonstrated strong news reporting, writing, and editorial judgment skills.
- Proficiency in operating cameras and performing basic video editing tasks.
- Fluency and strong command of both Hausa and English languages.
- Resourceful, proactive, and capable of working independently to meet strict daily broadcast deadlines.
