About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier healthcare institution dedicated to medical excellence, education, and research. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Morbid Anatomy Personnel to join our dynamic Pathology department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting diagnostic services, pathological research, and clinical education within a leading Nigerian university teaching hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pathologists and senior medical staff in the preparation, processing, and examination of tissue specimens.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all anatomical pathology specimens received and processed.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, laboratory standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized laboratory equipment used in morbid anatomy and histopathology.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical meetings, departmental training sessions, and research activities.
- Manage laboratory inventory and requisition supplies as needed to ensure seamless department operations.
- B.Sc. in Human Anatomy or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Mandatory possession of an NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
- At least two (2) years of cognate post-qualification experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
- Must be duly registered with the relevant professional regulatory body and possess a valid practicing license where applicable.
- Demonstrated ICT compliance and proficiency in using healthcare or laboratory information systems.
