About the Role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has a long-standing commitment to Nigeria, providing vital capacity building and policy development support to foster sustainable development, inclusive growth, and effective governance. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst to play a pivotal role in strengthening the accountability, transparency, and effectiveness of the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF). In this capacity, your quality monitoring, evidence-based reporting, and partner capacity assessments will directly inform critical decision-making and enhance humanitarian outcomes for vulnerable populations across northeast Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and regularly update programmatic monitoring plans in alignment with operational guidelines to ensure effective performance tracking and compliance of NHF-funded projects.
  • Conduct systematic field-based and remote monitoring visits, producing actionable reports, timely findings, and constructive recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Manage data, design analytical products, and produce dashboards and situation reports to support evidence-based decision-making and risk-informed analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity-strengthening support to NGO partners, ensuring adherence to rigorous reporting standards and eligibility processes.
  • Support strategic review processes, quality assurance of narrative reports, and grant adjustments in compliance with Central Emergency Response and CBPF guidelines.
  • Conduct internal capacity assessments (ICAs) and participate in coordination missions with donors, Advisory Board members, and UN management.

Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Statistics, Political or Social Science, Development Studies, International Studies, Public Administration, or a related field. (A Bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted).
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in emergency humanitarian programming, crisis relief management, or monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the UN or an international NGO.
  • Demonstrated expertise in results-based management frameworks, data collection, analytical reporting, and partner compliance.
  • Exceptional communication, planning, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in high-stress environments.
