About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, with the vital mandate to improve the healthcare needs of Nigerians and increase manpower output in the sector. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, FUAHSE is committed to training innovative, skilled, and proactive professionals in allied health sciences. We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of academic and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to aid in diagnosis, research, and academic training.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment and diagnostic instruments.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality control standards, and ethical guidelines within the laboratory.
- Assist academic staff and students in practical laboratory sessions and research projects.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inventory supplies, and prepare detailed reports for university review.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and researchers to support the university's healthcare delivery objectives.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree or an equivalent relevant academic qualification from a recognized institution.
- Current valid licensure and registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Demonstrated competence, professional integrity, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven commitment to the institutional objectives and core values of the University.
- Relevant professional experience in a clinical or academic laboratory setting is highly advantageous.
