Grounded in strong medical ethics and evidence-based practices, we are currently seeking a highly competent, detail-oriented, and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist specialising in Haematology to join our dedicated laboratory team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting clinicians by delivering accurate, reliable, and timely haematological investigations. You will work in a fast-paced environment where precision and adherence to international medical standards directly impact patient diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialised haematological investigations including Full Blood Count (FBC), ESR, and differential counts efficiently.
  • Conduct blood film preparation, staining, examination, and interpretation to identify abnormalities.
  • Manage blood grouping, cross-matching, and other transfusion-related procedures safely.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated haematology analysers and laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control, biosafety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate critical laboratory findings promptly to appropriate medical personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of tests, reagent storage, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with doctors, nurses, and fellow healthcare professionals to uphold exceptional patient care standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or equivalent degree.
  • Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) with a valid practising licence.
  • Minimum of 2 to 10 years of post-NYSC experience within a recognized medical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in haematology procedures and automated laboratory systems.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, professional ethics, and teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the hospital.
