Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Chemical Pathology to join our esteemed healthcare team in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate and timely chemical pathology laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests to assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory analyzers and equipment in compliance with established quality control standards.
- Ensure proper handling, processing, and storage of biological specimens while maintaining strict chain-of-custody and biosafety protocols.
- Analyze chemical components of body fluids such as blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid to detect abnormalities and diseases.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all laboratory tests, results, and quality assurance logs in alignment with hospital data policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to communicate critical test results promptly and effectively.
- Participate in continuous professional development programs, departmental research initiatives, and internal quality improvement audits.
- Possession of a good Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution in a relevant discipline.
- Current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Evidence of successful completion, exemption, or exclusion from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
- Demonstrated proficiency in chemical pathology techniques, equipment handling, and laboratory information systems.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.
