About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) is a leading federal tertiary health institution dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, advanced medical training, and groundbreaking research. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist with a specialization in Haematology to join our dynamic diagnostic team in Ile-Ife, Osun State. In this vital role, you will perform complex laboratory tests, ensure stringent quality control, and contribute significantly to accurate patient diagnosis and treatment plans within a reputable healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized haematology laboratory investigations accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment and diagnostic analysers.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance, quality control, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Handle, process, and analyze blood samples, bone marrow aspirates, and other relevant specimens.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of all test results and laboratory data.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development, departmental training sessions, and research activities.
- Possession of a good Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution.
- Must be duly registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) with a current practicing license.
- Evidence of successful completion, exemption, or exclusion from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in modern laboratory information systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
