The Katsina State Hospitals Services Management Board invites applications from qualified and passionate professionals for the position of Medical Laboratory Scientist. Operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, our board oversees numerous general hospitals, specialized clinics, and medical stores across Katsina State. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in patient care by performing essential laboratory analyses that guide clinical decisions and treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests and analyses accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Properly collect, prepare, process, and examine biological specimens following strict laboratory protocols.
- Record, analyze, and report laboratory test results accurately to medical officers and healthcare teams in a timely manner.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all tests conducted and ensure proper inventory management of laboratory reagents and supplies.
- Adhere strictly to quality control procedures, biosafety guidelines, and infection control protocols within the laboratory.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Possession of a current practicing license.
- Mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Proven proficiency in modern laboratory techniques, diagnostic equipment operation, and data management.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
