About the Role

Key Responsibilities- Compile and analyze body fluids, tissue, and other biological specimens to identify normal and abnormal findings
- Perform molecular diagnostics including PCR testing using open and closed systems
- Conduct hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, and infectious disease testing including COVID-19 diagnostics
- Organize laboratory workflow by matching computer orders with specimens, sorting, labeling, logging, and preparing reports for timely delivery
- Communicate abnormal results to supervisory personnel, physicians, nurses, patients, and families in a professional and compassionate manner
- Operate sophisticated diagnostic equipment and instruments following standard operating procedures
- Maintain quality assurance by running standards and controls, performing routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Stay current with medical research, evidence-based practices, and emerging diagnostic technologies through continuing education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited Nigerian university
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience in a medical laboratory, clinic, or hospital setting
- Current AMLSCN (Associate of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria) certification
- Valid practicing license; additional molecular diagnostic certifications preferred
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with laboratory information systems
- Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
