About the Role
International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate National Medical Doctor to join our dynamic healthcare team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive patient care, manage acute and chronic conditions, and build local capacity to ensure sustainable health outcomes in vulnerable communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical care, including thorough patient triage, physical examinations, accurate diagnoses, and appropriate treatment plans.
- Conduct daily patient rounds, monitor clinical progress, document case histories, and facilitate timely medical referrals when necessary.
- Design and deliver hands-on clinical training and mentorship to local healthcare staff to improve overall service delivery.
- Implement and maintain strict Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures in accordance with national and international standards.
- Provide essential health education to patients and community members regarding disease prevention, nutrition, hygiene, and vaccination.
- Participate in emergency health service delivery, outreach clinics, and 24-hour shift rotations as required.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensure proper inventory management of medical supplies, and strictly uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution with a valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduation clinical experience, preferably working within low-resource settings or humanitarian contexts.
- Demonstrated expertise in primary healthcare, maternal and child health, infectious disease management, and emergency response.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
- Fluency in English and relevant local languages is required.
