Formed by the Osun State government through the strategic upgrading of the historic Ilesa General Hospital, our institution is rapidly growing into a leading center for healthcare delivery, medical education, and clinical research in Nigeria. Key Responsibilities- Provide specialized surgical consultations, diagnoses, and comprehensive treatment plans for patients requiring complex surgical interventions.
- Perform high-quality surgical procedures while adhering strictly to international best practices, safety protocols, and hospital standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical officers, house officers, and undergraduate medical students.
- Participate actively in departmental ward rounds, multidisciplinary clinical meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and academic conferences.
- Contribute to institutional research initiatives and evidence-based clinical practices to improve surgical outcomes at UNILESA Teaching Hospital.
- Collaborate effectively with other medical specialists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient management.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Hold a postgraduate fellowship in Surgery (such as FWACS, FNMCS, or equivalent recognized foreign qualifications).
- Current valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a recognized teaching hospital or reputable tertiary healthcare facility.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record in medical education and research.
