University of Ilesa (UNILESA) Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Consultant - Paediatrics. We are looking for a passionate specialist who will drive clinical excellence in our paediatric department, ensuring the highest standards of medical care for infants, children, and adolescents in Nigeria.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive specialist paediatric medical care to patients in outpatient clinics, wards, and the emergency unit.
Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical officers, nursing staff, and medical students within the teaching hospital environment.
Participate actively in departmental clinical meetings, mortality reviews, and multidisciplinary healthcare conferences.
Contribute to the formulation and implementation of clinical protocols and quality assurance standards within the paediatric unit.
Engage in clinical research and community health outreach programs initiated by the hospital and the university system.
QualificationsPossess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPaed) or West African Postgraduate Medical College (FWACP) in Paediatrics, or an equivalent recognized foreign fellowship.
Current practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Demonstrated clinical experience in managing complex paediatric cases and a strong track record of academic or professional publications is an added advantage.
