About the Role
University of Ilesa - UNILESA Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Medical Consultant - Paediatrics. This pivotal role involves delivering specialized medical care to infants, children, and adolescents while contributing to the training of the next generation of medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive care for pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals within the department.
- Participate actively in departmental ward rounds, multidisciplinary clinical meetings, and academic conferences.
- Conduct clinical research and contribute to evidence-based medical practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and medical ethics in all clinical operations.
- Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Hold a postgraduate fellowship in Paediatrics (e.g., FWACP, FMCPaed, or equivalent professional qualifications).
- Current valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals will be an added advantage.
