About the Role

University of Ilesa - UNILESA Teaching Hospital, established through the upgrade of the historic Ilesa General Hospital by the Osun State government, is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Medical Consultant specializing in Orthopaedic and Traumatology to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver exceptional patient care, lead complex surgical procedures, and drive excellence in our medical services. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert medical and surgical consultations in Orthopaedics and Traumatology for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Perform complex bone, joint, and trauma surgeries with a high standard of patient safety and clinical excellence.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train resident doctors, medical officers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate actively in departmental ward rounds, clinical meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, and academic sessions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams to ensure holistic and comprehensive patient rehabilitation and care.
  • Contribute to clinical research, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.

Qualifications
  • Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Hold a Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP), or an equivalent registrable postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
  • Current valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in managing diverse orthopaedic and trauma cases.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to medical ethics.
