About the Role
The Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission invites qualified medical professionals to serve as Medical Consultant at GL.16 level. This is a senior position within Nigeria's constitutional statutory body responsible for human resource management and public sector governance. Operating under the ARISE Agenda framework, you will contribute to strategic health initiatives, manpower planning, and institutional wellness across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Akwa Ibom State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical consultation on health policy and occupational health matters affecting civil servants
- Advise on institutional health programmes and wellness initiatives across MDAs
- Contribute to manpower planning and career progression in medical-related roles
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the civil service
- Support institutional discipline and performance management through medical expertise
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic health-related decisions
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- MD (Doctor of Medicine)
- Specialty training or certification in one of the following: Anaesthesia, Chemical Pathology, Community Medicine, Dermatology, or Haematology and Immunology
- Current medical registration with regulatory bodies
- Proven experience in institutional or public health management
