About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a leader in the Nigerian manufacturing sector and producer of the iconic Golden Penny brand, is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic production team in Apapa, Lagos. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation of our large-scale milling and processing infrastructure by executing timely maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Execute routine maintenance and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) jobs strictly and on schedule.
- Perform daily lubrication of pumps, gearboxes, couplings, and other moving components.
- Carry out daily and periodic checks on bolts, nuts, and pumps to prevent equipment misalignment.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and sketches to determine accurate assembly operations.
- Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to construct heavy industrial machinery such as elevators and conveyors.
- Install major mechanical components, including motors, gears, pumps, and hydraulic assemblies.
- Inspect parts and finished products rigorously to maintain high quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and standard operating procedures during all maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accountability and proper care for all assigned working tools and equipment.
- Report daily maintenance activities and equipment anomalies promptly to the shift coordinator and line manager.
- National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of cognate hands-on experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or production environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage materials efficiently.
