About the Role
Kojo Motors, a leading authorized automotive dealership and local assembler of YUTONG buses in Nigeria, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Workshop Manager to lead our operations in Abuja. In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence, supervise our technical team, and ensure the highest standards of vehicle servicing and customer satisfaction are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanical workshop efficiently.
- Supervise, coordinate, and motivate technicians and workshop staff.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all jobs meet strict safety, quality, and professional standards.
- Monitor workshop productivity, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of workshop tools and equipment.
- Review and approve technical repair recommendations and cost estimates.
- Maintain accurate workshop records, job cards, and maintenance reports.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and operating procedures.
- Identify training and development needs for workshop personnel.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors, the Parts Department, and Management.
- Control workshop resources to minimize unnecessary costs and operational wastage.
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in automotive mechanical workshop operations.
- Proven track record of managing and leading a team of mechanics and technicians.
- Strong expertise in vehicle diagnostics, modern maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with modern vehicles and advanced automotive diagnostic equipment.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience in a reputable automotive dealership or service center is a distinct advantage.
