We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Technician II to join our proficient team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the execution of routine and complex mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with approved work plans and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Support mechanical engineers in the planning, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Assist in preparing accurate proposals and comprehensive cost estimates for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Actively participate in on-the-job safety programs, toolbox talks, and hazard identification processes.
- Review job packs thoroughly and identify potential safety concerns before commencing any fieldwork.
- Ensure that all identified safety issues are effectively mitigated or removed prior to task execution.
- Execute scheduled and corrective mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with approved site procedures.
- Record technical history, maintenance logs, and asset data accurately using the Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and data sheets.
- Provide actionable feedback to the Execution Front Line Supervisor (FLS) to improve job pack quality and efficiency.
- Relevant mechanical or technical certifications, or an equivalent combination of professional hands-on experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate field conditions and recommend proper remediation steps.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities to work effectively across diverse multidisciplinary teams.
- High adaptability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequently changing operational priorities.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and daily administrative tasks.
