About the Role
SPIE Oil & Gas Services, a global leader in technical expertise for the energy sector, is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Mechanical Preparator Engineer to join our dynamic operations in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our upstream and downstream facilities by driving excellence in maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and contractor supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive scopes of work for modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
- Develop and issue calls for bids for contractors, participating in the review, validation, and tender evaluation process.
- Supervise on-site modification works executed by external contractors to guarantee compliance with company standards and proper documentation.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions, provide actionable repair recommendations, and propose innovative solutions to boost plant availability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production methods teams to execute desired plant modifications and assist in preparing robust preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor on-site spare parts stock levels to maintain optimal inventory and verify that delivered materials match exact engineering specifications.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in mechanical maintenance, planning, or preparation within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Strong working knowledge of international safety standards, maintenance management systems, and technical procurement processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, coupled with outstanding project supervision and contractor management skills.
- Excellent communication in English, with strong report-writing and analytical capabilities for root-cause failure analysis.
