About the Role
Shalina Healthcare is a market leader in making quality healthcare products affordable and available across Africa. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical equipment and utilities within our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in maximizing equipment availability, safety, and efficiency while maintaining compliance with strict regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and utilities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns swiftly to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain and repair pharmaceutical production machinery, including mixers, tablet presses, packaging equipment, compressors, and pumps.
- Support the installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend productivity enhancements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for equipment failures.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional engineering certification or relevant professional membership is an added advantage.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, FMCG, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven expertise in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and GMP-regulated manufacturing systems.
