About the Role
Borno Women Development Initiative (BOWDI) is a dynamic women-led, non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives in Northeast Nigeria through impactful humanitarian and development interventions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEAL Manager to oversee our monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning frameworks. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of transparency, program quality, and data integrity across our diverse sectors, including education, peace-building, food security, livelihoods, and protection.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Lead the collection, verification, analysis, and management of quantitative and qualitative data to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and manage comprehensive tools for baseline studies, midline assessments, and endline evaluations.
- Establish and maintain effective community feedback and response mechanisms (CFRM) to ensure beneficiary accountability.
- Prepare accurate, high-quality, and timely internal and donor reports highlighting project progress, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Facilitate learning and reflection sessions with project teams to drive adaptive management and continuous program improvement.
- Build the capacity of project staff and partners on MEAL best practices, data collection methodologies, and digital tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field; a Master's degree is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in MEAL roles within the humanitarian or NGO sector, preferably in Northeast Nigeria.
- Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, SPSS, STATA, or similar applications.
- Strong understanding of donor guidelines, humanitarian principles, and accountability standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standard).
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and insecure environments.
