About the Role
Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) offers first-class education from Preschool to Primary levels, utilizing a blended Nigeria-British curriculum. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our primary school team. In this role, you will foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, develop critical problem-solving skills, and nurture a positive attitude towards the subject. You will play a crucial part in upholding DTA's mission to create an atmosphere of fun where kids can enjoy being kids while ensuring academic excellence and individualized teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with DTA's blended British-Nigerian curriculum and academic standards.
- Implement DTA's SHRID niche focusing on skill acquisition in numeracy, individualized teaching, and clear diction in mathematical communication.
- Design fair assessments, analyze student data, and provide targeted support to bridge learning gaps.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
- Monitor the academic and social-emotional well-being of students, serving as a Form Tutor when assigned.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support holistic student development and utilize school software for academic tracking.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (NCE with equivalent experience may be considered).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience teaching mathematics within a primary school setting.
- Strong familiarity with the British and Nigerian primary school curricula.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
