About the Role
WTS Energy is a leading global manpower and recruitment consultant to the oil, gas, and energy industries. We are currently recruiting a professional Marine Superintendent to join our dynamic marine operations team in Nigeria. In this role, you will ensure our vessels consistently meet the highest standards required by clients, class societies, and statutory regulations. You will oversee navigational safety, vessel operations, security protocols, and stakeholder relations while supporting the training and evaluation of marine personnel. Experience working with AHTS, MPSV, SCV, DP systems, and multiple vessel fleets is essential, while tanker or cargo experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain navigational policies, compliance trackers, and procedures to ensure safe, statutorily compliant operations.
- Monitor vessel class status, ensuring full compliance with IMO, flag state, class, and ISM requirements.
- Oversee daily vessel operations, client directive compliance, and the timely submission of accurate operational reports.
- Manage security operations, including GSF deployment, port call management, and vessel escort duties.
- Act as the primary interface for host community issues, building and maintaining cordial stakeholder relationships.
- Provide offshore Captains with navigational information, assistance, and documented safety equipment familiarisations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geography, Nautical Sciences, or a related field.
- Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) with a minimum of Master Unlimited.
- At least 10 years of sea-time experience serving as a Master.
- Extensive expertise in the marine, tugboat, oil transportation, and shipping industries with hands-on DP systems knowledge.
- Strong understanding of vessel maintenance systems, ISM/SMS review processes, and vessel monitoring systems like AIS and eFMS.
- Physical fitness to board vessels, barges, and tugs at sea and in port, along with a willingness to travel to outports.
