About the Role
Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited is a 100% Nigerian-owned company with international reach, specializing in top-tier underwater and topside Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance (IRM) services for the oil and gas sector. We are currently seeking a strategic, result-driven Manager, Legal and Compliance to lead our legal department, drive governance excellence, and safeguard our operational interests across Nigeria and the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, vet, and negotiate high-value product supply contracts, BIMCO agreements, charter parties, and Master Service Agreements.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act and NCDMB directives.
- Manage maritime claims, dispute resolutions, arbitrations, and litigation processes effectively.
- Oversee comprehensive anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering compliance programs.
- Provide expert legal counsel during strategic meetings and contribute regulatory insights to corporate leadership.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
- Master’s degree (LLM) in Maritime, Energy, or Oil and Gas Law is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of post-call experience, with at least 5 years in a senior legal role within the oil and gas or maritime sector.
- Deep understanding of offshore IRM operations, BIMCO contracting forms, and Nigerian local content laws.
