Our client, a forward-thinking organization, is seeking an experienced Manager, Data Science & AI to lead hands-on data science and artificial intelligence initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead predictive analytics, data engineering, and AI-enabled solutions to empower business and programmatic decisions across Nigeria and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute end-to-end data science and AI projects, including predictive analytics, digital dashboards, and AI-enabled tools.
- Design, build, and oversee robust data pipelines, data models, and multi-source data integration frameworks.
- Perform advanced statistical and machine learning analyses using regression, classification, clustering, and forecasting techniques.
- Develop and review executive-level, decision-focused dashboards utilizing Power BI or Tableau.
- Establish stringent data quality, validation, governance, and documentation standards in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
- Manage, mentor, and elevate a team of data scientists and data engineers, ensuring high technical output and rigour.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to translate complex datasets into actionable business strategies and compelling proposals.
- Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring ethical usage, data security, and valid LLM-assisted outputs.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; a postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics is a strong advantage.
- 6 to 8 years of professional experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML Engineering, or Applied Analytics, including managing technical teams.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), and cloud data platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, statistical reasoning, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with digital health systems, development programmes, or telecom data ecosystems in emerging markets is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical insights to diverse, non-technical stakeholders.
