Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive compliance programme tailored across various African markets.
- Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), actively managing AML/CFT, KYC, and EDD processes while monitoring transactions and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Liaise effectively with external regulators, legal advisors, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Build, update, and maintain robust compliance policies and conduct regular staff training sessions.
- Prepare comprehensive compliance and risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee internal audits and proactively monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to mitigate potential exposures.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proven professional experience in compliance management, preferably within the dynamic financial services sector.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of AML/CFT laws and broader financial regulations across Africa.
- Demonstrated experience with cross-border payments and prior MLRO tenure will be a distinct advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, ACAMS, ICA, or similar recognized bodies are strongly preferred.
