About the Role
Preston International School, a prestigious residential and boarding school in Akure, is seeking a dedicated and practically skilled Maintenance Officer to join our facilities team. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be responsible for the inspection, upkeep, and repair of our school buildings, infrastructure, and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on school buildings, furniture, and facilities.
- Apply professional expertise in plumbing, carpentry, or electrical installation and repairs.
- Inspect campus facilities regularly to identify hazards, faults, and maintenance requirements.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Head of Maintenance and external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations during all maintenance operations.
- Trade Test Certificate, National Technical Certificate, NABTEB, or City & Guilds in Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical Installation, or a related trade.
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance or a similar trade role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a safety-conscious approach to work.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to handle manual maintenance duties.
- Prior experience in a school, residential, or commercial facilities environment is a strong advantage.
