About the Role
RA Trading, Nigeria's foremost manufacturer of custom interior designs, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our dynamic production team. Combining Israeli and Nigerian expertise, we create bespoke furniture for high-end residential and commercial projects. In this role, you will play a crucial part in bringing intricate designs to life by accurately cutting, shaping, and assembling premium wooden components using advanced machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications to determine accurate machining requirements for furniture components.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate advanced woodworking machinery, including CNC routers, edge banding machines, and precision saws.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and raw materials while ensuring proper alignment for optimal fabrication results.
- Monitor active machine performance closely, making necessary adjustments to maintain strict dimensional accuracy and superior surface finishes.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts to ensure longevity.
- Inspect finished machined parts rigorously for defects, ensuring all output meets our premium quality control standards.
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal designers, engineers, and assembly teams to optimize workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain precise operational records regarding production output, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.
- High School Diploma with relevant vocational training or certification in machining or CNC programming.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience working as a machinist within the furniture manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of woodworking materials, cutting tools, and modern machining processes.
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate exact dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
