About the Role
Sumal Foods Limited, a renowned leader in the Nigerian food and confectionery manufacturing industry, is looking for a reliable and skilled Lorry Driver to join our growing logistics and distribution team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our goods reach distributors and customers safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate heavy-duty lorries and transport goods to designated locations across Nigeria and neighboring export routes.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking oil, water, brakes, and tire pressure.
- Adhere strictly to federal traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, waybills, and travel documentation upon cargo pickup and drop-off.
- Report any mechanical faults, accidents, or delays immediately to the logistics management team.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and offloading of raw materials and finished FMCG products to prevent damage.
- Valid National Driving Licence with the appropriate commercial vehicle endorsement.
- Proven professional driving experience operating heavy-duty lorries or articulated trucks.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian inter-state roads, highways, and transport regulations.
- Good eyesight, physical fitness, and the ability to endure long hours on the road.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on transit.
