About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a qualified and motivated Livestock Officer II (CONTISS 07) to join our vibrant academic and operational community. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our agricultural and livestock management initiatives, contributing to both practical training and research excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations and maintenance of university livestock farms and facilities.
- Monitor animal health, nutrition, and breeding programs in collaboration with academic staff.
- Supervise junior farm hands and ensure adherence to safety and biosecurity protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, feed consumption, and production yields.
- Assist researchers and students with practical demonstrations and data collection.
- A good honours degree not below Second Class (Lower Division) in Animal Science or a closely related field.
- Mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.
- Strong understanding of modern livestock farming techniques and animal husbandry.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
