About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Litigation and Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our legal team at our corporate headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in mitigating legal risks, protecting commercial interests, and ensuring seamless navigation of complex dispute resolution mechanisms across our diverse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and track litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) matters to minimize legal exposure and safeguard company assets.
- Provide expert legal analysis and strategic advice on disputes, claims, and regulatory compliance issues.
- Coordinate effectively with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and favorable dispute outcomes.
- Conduct thorough legal research, investigate claims, and prepare comprehensive documentation for active proceedings.
- Review, assess, and respond promptly to demand letters, legal notices, and contractual disputes, supporting debt recovery initiatives when necessary.
- Prepare periodic reports on litigation status, emerging legal risks, and outcomes for the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Lead.
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in Nigeria to advise leadership on potential operational impacts.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) with active qualification to practice law in Nigeria.
- Active membership in the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to litigation and dispute resolution in a top-tier law firm or multinational corporation.
- Advanced knowledge of Nigerian civil procedure rules, court processes, and case law.
