About the Role
Living Treasure Academy, a reputable private Christian educational institution located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Literature Teacher to join our dedicated academic team. In this role, you will inspire students by bringing literary works to life, encouraging critical thinking, and nurturing moral values aligned with our school ethos.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive and engaging Literature-in-English lessons to secondary school students in accordance with the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Prepare robust lesson plans, instructional materials, and formative assessments to track student progress effectively.
- Encourage analytical thinking, creative writing, and a deep appreciation for diverse literary texts.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that supports holistic student development.
- Participate in school co-curricular activities, staff meetings, and professional development workshops.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate academic records for periodic reporting to parents and school administration.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.A. (Ed), or B.A. in English and Literature, or a related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Strong command of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A deep understanding of secondary school literature curricula and modern pedagogical techniques.
- Must be deeply aligned with the Christian values and mission of Living Treasure Academy.
- Certification in education or TRCN registration will be a distinct advantage.
