Dabitos Schools, a premier private, co-educational learning institution located in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Literature Teacher to join our vibrant academic team. As a Literature Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating a deep appreciation for language, prose, and poetry among our secondary school students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and comprehensive Literature-in-English lessons in accordance with the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations including WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE.
- Encourage critical thinking and lively classroom discussions through the analysis of diverse literary texts.
- Design, administer, and grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations to monitor student progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate records of academic performance.
- Participate actively in school co-curricular activities, drama clubs, and literary and debating societies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and curriculum enhancements.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.A. (Ed), or B.A. in English and Literature, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.
- Thorough knowledge of current educational policies, standards, and literature curricula.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse classroom environment and engage adolescent learners effectively.
- TRCN certification or a relevant teaching license is an added advantage.
