About the Role
Barachel School is a well-established educational institution catering to both day and boarding students. We are currently seeking a passionate and resourceful Librarian to oversee our school library, curate engaging learning materials, and support our academic programs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, organize, and classify library books, digital resources, periodicals, and multimedia materials efficiently.
- Create a welcoming, quiet, and conducive environment for reading, studying, and research.
- Guide students and staff in locating, evaluating, and effectively using library resources and research databases.
- Implement and maintain modern cataloging and circulation systems for tracking book inventory and loans.
- Develop and promote engaging literacy programs, book clubs, and reading initiatives to encourage a lifelong love for reading among students.
- Collaborate with teachers to align library resources with the school curriculum and support classroom learning.
- Monitor library equipment and ensure the proper maintenance and security of all library assets.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or certification in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Librarian, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- Strong passion for education and working with children and adolescents.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer operations and modern library management software.
- Ability to foster a disciplined yet encouraging atmosphere for students.
