About the Role
Malaria Consortium is seeking a dedicated and experienced LGA Field Assistant to join our team in Gombe. In this crucial role, you will support the implementation, coordination, and supervision of the SARMAAN II Project, focusing on the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) of Azithromycin to children aged 1-59 months. You will work closely with local government authorities, health facilities, and community stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery, effective supply chain management, and robust data collection.
Key Responsibilities- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) of Azithromycin across implementing health facilities in the assigned LGA.
- Facilitate last-mile distribution of commodities from the State Central Medical Store to health facilities and manage reverse logistics.
- Support the rollout of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) interventions and conduct refresher trainings for Health Facility Workers and Community Drug Distributors.
- Monitor and report field issues, Adverse Drug Reactions, and protocol non-compliance to the command-and-control center.
- Collaborate with the M&E Officer for data entry, supply chain management, and administrative coverage reporting.
- Engage with local government management teams, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to maintain high program visibility and community trust.
- Minimum of a qualification in Science, Social Science, or a Public Health-related field with at least two years of relevant field experience.
- Demonstrated experience in drug or commodity supply management, M&E, and logistics.
- Proficiency in the use of digital data collection tools such as Kobo Collect and SurveyCTO, alongside the Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in English and Hausa/Fulani or other relevant local languages spoken in Gombe.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including health workers and community leaders.
