About the Role

CBM is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager, Inclusive Health to lead the development of innovative programmes within our Inclusive Health Initiative (IHI). Working from our Country Coordination Office in Abuja, Nigeria, you will design project portfolios that support broader country goals, strengthen cross-sectoral coordination, and advance our mission of breaking the cycle of poverty and disability. This vital role drives strategic oversight, donor engagement, and impactful programme delivery across key health areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set the multi-year strategic direction for the IHI portfolio, focusing on resource allocation, risk management, and innovation across Eye Health, Ear & Hearing Health, and Physical Rehabilitation.
  • Provide strategic oversight for participatory project design, logical frameworks, budgets, and implementation plans.
  • Directly line-manage, mentor, and performance-review IHI Portfolio Managers while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Lead proposal development, budgeting, and high-level donor negotiations to secure funding and expand programme reach.
  • Track programme outputs, ensure robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Represent CBM in key national and international sector forums, championing safeguarding and disability inclusion.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Rehabilitation Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience managing complex health or development programmes.
  • Proven track record in donor engagement, proposal development, and project cycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in directly line-managing multidisciplinary programme teams.
  • Strong knowledge of policy frameworks and sector standards in at least one core IHI health area.
  • Exceptional English communication skills; proficiency in French or Spanish is an added advantage.
