About the Role
Liquid Bulk Limited is a premier indigenous energy company incorporated in June 2009, specializing in the procurement, storage, marketing, and distribution of petroleum products. We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Legal Officer / Company Secretary to join our growing corporate team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will ensure our organization and its subsidiaries maintain the highest standards of financial, legal, and corporate governance compliance while supporting our expanding footprint in the African energy market.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and ensure timely preparation of commercial agreements, contracts, and other legal documents related to the company's business activities.
- Provide comprehensive support for company secretarial duties, including preparing meeting agendas, attending and recording accurate minutes, and tracking action points.
- Conduct thorough legal research and review legal documents concerning oil and gas transactions across upstream and midstream sectors.
- Liaise effectively with regulatory bodies, managing the end-to-end application, acquisition, and renewal of necessary licenses and permits.
- Monitor and ensure strict adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal policy compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with external solicitors to execute assigned legal tasks and manage litigation processes efficiently.
- Maintain and update legal databases and information systems to support the quality management system and continuous operational improvement.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree with a minimum of a Second Class Upper classification.
- Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL) with active membership.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant litigation experience gained within a reputable law firm or an established oil and gas company.
- Possession of a Master's Degree in Oil and Gas Law or a related discipline will be a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in legal drafting, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and oil and gas industry regulations.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with sound business judgment and absolute discretion regarding confidential information.
