About the Role
LeadCapital Plc is a leading financial services institution in Nigeria with expertise in Financial Advisory and Corporate Finance, registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as an Issuing House and Underwriter. We are seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Legal Officer to join our dynamic team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring full regulatory compliance, managing corporate governance processes, and supporting our transactional teams across various financial and legal operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting in the preparation, rendition, and filing of Annual Report & Accounts to meet CAC, SEC, and NGX requirements.
- Organizing board meetings and annual general meetings, ensuring proper documentation and stakeholder representation.
- Drafting, reviewing, and perfecting legal documents, including contracts, leases, NDAs, MOUs, SLAs, and brokerage agreements.
- Liaising with external solicitors on debt recovery cases and communicating with regulatory bodies.
- Assisting in capital and debt-raising transactions by reviewing fundraising term sheets, underwriting agreements, and vending agreements.
- Managing and safeguarding the Company’s Seal and Register of Sealed documents.
- LL.B degree from a recognized university.
- BL qualification and active admission to the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant post-call experience within a corporate, financial services, investment, or banking environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory law.
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills with high attention to detail.
