About the Role
Afrihood Development Company is the trusted real estate solution provider changing the face of Africa one building at a time. We are seeking a commercially minded Legal Manager & Group Company Secretary to serve as our principal in-house legal and governance officer, supporting the Board, executive leadership, and project SPVs as we scale our operations across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as Secretary to the Afrihood Nigeria Board, coordinating meetings, governance documentation, and statutory registers.
- Lead legal structuring and documentation for property acquisitions, development transactions, joint ventures, and project SPVs.
- Support institutional debt, private capital, and project finance transactions by reviewing and negotiating key financial agreements.
- Oversee title verification, land documentation, and property perfection processes while mitigating development risks.
- Manage corporate compliance, regulatory relationships, dispute resolution, and external legal counsel across the Group.
- Build a robust legal and governance architecture to standardise contracts and support multiple project developments efficiently.
- LL.B and B.L degrees with active qualification to practise law in Nigeria.
- 5 to 10 years of post-call experience in corporate law, real estate, transactions, investment, or project finance.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, corporate governance, and Board administration.
- Membership in the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and commercial problem-solving skills with high integrity and discretion.
