About the Role
LocalBuka is transforming food discovery in Africa and the world by connecting users to affordable and authentic local dining options. We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will work closely with our legal counsel to support various corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a law graduate or undergraduate seeking practical legal experience in a fast-paced technology and food-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the legal team in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor agreements, partnership contracts, and terms of service.
- Conduct legal research on Nigerian regulatory frameworks relating to e-commerce, food safety, and data privacy.
- Maintain and organize corporate legal documents, compliance records, and intellectual property portfolios.
- Support the team in monitoring regulatory changes and preparing compliance reports for management.
- Assist with corporate governance tasks, including minute-taking and filing returns with relevant regulatory bodies.
- Currently studying for a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or a recent graduate awaiting Nigerian Law School admission.
- Strong academic background with a demonstrated interest in corporate law, technology law, or intellectual property.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and synthesize complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative legal tech tools.
