About the Role

Sevan Construction Nigeria Limited, established in 1981 (RC 37125), is a leading provider of steel fabrication, semi-trailer manufacturing, and civil construction solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and legally knowledgeable Legal/Administrative Officer to join our growing team and support our operations across multiple business lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, purchase orders, service agreements, and subcontractor arrangements
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deadlines, deliverables, warranties, payment terms, and liabilities
  • Provide management with legal and contractual risk advice affecting company operations
  • Maintain organized registers of all company contracts and legal documents
  • Handle disputes, claims, and correspondence with clients, contractors, suppliers, and employees
  • Liaise with external solicitors, government agencies, and regulatory bodies
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with employment, health and safety, environmental, tax, and construction regulations
  • Assist with company registrations, licences, permits, and statutory filings
  • Prepare legal notices, corporate correspondence, and official documentation
  • Maintain secure and confidential records of sensitive legal and corporate documents
  • Support HR functions including employee documentation, onboarding, and leave records
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure timely submission of required documentation
  • Document and resolve contractual issues arising from delays, defects, or scope changes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) or related field
  • Professional qualification such as BL and/or relevant professional membership (advantageous)
  • Additional qualifications in business administration, corporate governance, compliance, or contract management (preferred)
  • Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in legal, administrative, corporate, construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
  • Proven experience in contract administration or construction/engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, employment matters, regulatory compliance, and corporate documentation
