About the Role

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is seeking a passionate and qualified academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer II in Property and Commercial Law. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the minds of future legal practitioners, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the intellectual growth of our Faculty of Law. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Property Law, Commercial Law, and related subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Develop and update course curricula in alignment with current legal standards and national educational requirements.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and student internships.
  • Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international law journals.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as academic administrative duties.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic progress, career development, and professional ethics.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a PhD in Law with a strong specialization in Property Law or Commercial Law from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Must possess a first degree in Law (LL.B) and a professional qualification (B.L) with active call to the Nigerian Bar.
  • Demonstrated record of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Previous teaching or research experience at the university level will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
