About the Role

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence dedicated to scientific innovation, technological breakthroughs, and sustainable human development. We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified and passionate academics to fill the position of Lecturer II in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicines. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in nurturing the next generation of pharmacists while advancing research in indigenous and modern medicinal agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicines.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects and mentor students on academic and professional development.
  • Conduct high-impact research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the development of traditional medicine integration.
  • Design, update, and evaluate curriculum courses in alignment with national and global educational standards.
  • Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committee work.
  • Engage in community service initiatives and foster partnerships with relevant healthcare and research industries.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacognosy, Traditional Medicine, or a closely related pharmaceutical science discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated track record of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Previous teaching or research experience within a tertiary institution is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in modern instructional technologies and student-centered learning methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
