About the Role
Federal University Lafia, established in February 2011 to expand access to high-quality higher education in Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our esteemed academic community as a Lecturer II in the Department of Library and Information Science. Located in the vibrant capital of Nasarawa State, our institution is rapidly growing and currently houses multiple faculties, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes committed to academic excellence and impactful research.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Library and Information Science.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic assignments at various levels of study.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties as assigned.
- Contribute to curriculum development, course design, and the continuous improvement of academic programmes.
- Provide mentorship, academic counseling, and career guidance to students.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree plus at least two (2) journal publications and a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and contribute to the academic profile of the university.
