The Federal University Lafia invites applications from qualified and passionate academics for the position of Lecturer II in Fine Arts. Established in February 2011, our institution is dedicated to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering excellence in teaching, learning, and research. As a Lecturer II, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, mentoring aspiring artists, and contributing to the vibrant cultural and academic life of our university.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive lectures, seminars, and practical studio sessions in Fine Arts to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop, update, and evaluate curriculum content to reflect contemporary artistic trends and academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and creative portfolios.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Mentor and advise students on academic progression, career development, and professional ethics in the arts.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Fine Arts or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree plus at least two (2) journal publications and a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level may apply.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and inspire students in studio and theoretical arts.
- Evidence of active academic research and peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals.
