Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and visionary academic leaders to apply for the position of Professor of Mathematics within our esteemed Faculty of Physical Sciences. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering cutting-edge research in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our mathematics department, mentoring the next generation of scholars, and driving impactful academic research.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Mathematics within the Faculty of Physical Sciences.
- Teach, mentor, and guide undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise Masters and PhD candidates to successful degree completion.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish findings in reputable local and international index journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental administration.
- Participate in university committees and community development initiatives.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
- Strong track record of academic leadership, teaching, and research grants.
