Greenland University, Jalingo, the premier private university in Taraba State, Nigeria, is inviting applications for the position of Lecturer II in Data Science within the Faculty of Science and Computing. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Data Science and related computing courses.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, practical assignments, and academic dissertations.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, course design, and departmental accreditation processes.
- Participate in academic advising, student mentoring, and departmental community engagement initiatives.
- Perform administrative duties and university service tasks as assigned by the Head of Department or Dean of Faculty.
- Hold a PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related relevant field; or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Lecturer.
- Must possess at least 5 peer-reviewed journal publications, including a minimum of 1 publication indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Demonstrable ICT proficiency with strong competence in modern data science tools, programming languages, and analytical software.
- Active membership in recognized professional computing or technology bodies.
- Mandatory possession of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
