About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and qualified academic professional to join our Department of Computing as a Lecturer II in Computer Science. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality education, conducting groundbreaking research, and mentoring students within a vibrant academic community committed to technological advancement and national development.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in core Computer Science courses.
- Supervise student research projects, practical laboratory sessions, and academic dissertations.
- Conduct impactful research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable academic journals.
- Participate in departmental curriculum development, academic assessments, and quality assurance processes.
- Engage in community service, academic administration, and university committees as assigned.
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, OR a Master's degree plus at least three (3) years of tertiary teaching experience and a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications.
- First-degree qualification with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a Ph.D.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, conduct independent research, and collaborate with academic peers.
